Immigration permit to Ukraine

The document that allows you to immigrate to another country is the basis and the first stage of legalization in almost every country. It begins with work abroad, the registration of a residence permit, and attempts to obtain a new citizenship. It is hardly worth reminding that the permission to immigrate to Ukraine is issued by the bodies of the migration service, which makes the foreign applicant dependent on the work of the bureaucratic apparatus, which, as is known, does not know how to act quickly.

Who is entitled to receive

Ukraine does not issue immigration permits to all foreign applicants. The domestic migration laws provide a clear list of persons who enjoy such a privilege and have the opportunity to apply for the issuance of this document, and if some can issue a permit outside the queue, then a quota applies to others.

Within the framework of the quota, the following categories of foreign citizens can receive an immigration permit:

  • figures of culture and science, as well as highly qualified specialists who are of interest to Ukraine;
  • investors who invested more than 100,000 dollars in the Ukrainian economy;
  • foreigners who once had a Ukrainian passport;
  • wife, husband, parents or minor children of a foreigner who has already issued a GNP in Ukraine;
  • victims of human trafficking and refugees.

Outside the quota, the following immigrants will issue a permit:

  • parents, children or spouses of local citizens. In the latter case, the right is acquired only two years after marriage;
  • were born on the territory of Ukraine (the “law of the soil” recognized by most legal systems of the world works here);
  • custodians or custodians of local citizens or, conversely, those over whom guardianship or guardianship has been established.

How much does it cost to get a permit to immigrate to Ukraine?

The specific cost of the service, if the permit is issued in the form of a legal company, is quite difficult to name, as it is determined by a set of specific factors inherent in the situation of a particular client. The final price is affected by the terms of the procedure implementation (the faster, the more expensive), the applicant’s availability of grounds (the more obvious they are, the easier the implementation process will be and, as a result, the lower the price tag), as well as the initial list of required documents.

Official permission to immigrate to Ukraine: documents

The basic list of documents looks like this:

  • statement on behalf of a foreigner;
  • a document capable of confirming the basis for immigration (indication of the presence of family ties, marriage, place of birth, guardianship or guardianship, etc.);
  • passport of a foreigner with a notarized translation into Ukrainian;
  • information about the place of residence both in Ukraine and in the native country;
  • certificates on the absence of criminal records, serious illnesses, as well as alcohol and drug addiction;
  • certificate of family composition;
  • a receipt confirming the payment of the state duty.

It should be taken into account that some of these documents (for example, certificates from medical institutions) have an expiration date, and therefore their registration should be done as a last resort – immediately before going to the HMS.

According to migration legislation, the HMS has the right to consider an application for an immigration permit within one year. However, the mediation of a competent lawyer usually allows to reduce the waiting time to three months.

Immigration to Ukraine: assistance to a professional lawyer

The difficulty of obtaining an immigration permit can be related not only to the specifics of the work of the bureaucratic apparatus in Ukraine, but also to the lack of knowledge in the field of migration legislation. Incorrectly prepared documents, inconsistency of the final list with the one prescribed in the laws – this leads to the return of the package of documents and unreasonably prolongs the time of implementation of the procedure. In turn, an experienced lawyer is able to optimize the process and achieve a positive result in the shortest possible time.
